The very latest update further brought in some exciting features to both the Mac and iPhone. As per Skype, these new features could boost your productivity and enrich your chat experience. The new update includes options to :

  • Split-screen – Multitask with the help split screen feature
  • Draft Messages – The typed but unsent messages will be saved as a draft in your conversation.

How to Bookmark Skype Messages on Mac and iPhone

This particular update has caught my attention the most. Earlier I have to go back to the conversation and search for a specific message, link, or picture that I needed. Now, I can simply bookmark them and have them all in one place.

Also, while I am checking the bookmarked message, I can come back to the original conversation. This way, I can see the whole discussion that happened around that particular bookmarked message.

Step #1. Open the Skype app on your Mac or iPhone.

Step #2. Go to the Chats and select the message, file, or media you want to bookmark from the conversation.

Step #3. Right-click (for Mac) or tap and hold (for iPhone), choose to Add bookmark from the options.

The bookmark icon next to the message or attachment will appear, indicating the bookmarking.

To remove a bookmark, repeat steps #1 – #3 and choose to Remove bookmark from the menu.

You can also use the three vertical dots option next to the message or attachment on your Mac, to add or remove the bookmark. Click on the icon and choose the action from the menu.

How to View a Bookmark in Skype on iPhone and Mac

Step #1. Open the Skype app on your Mac and iPhone.

Note that, when you forward a message or an attachment, the text in the message is quoted and the attachment has a Forwarded icon next to it. You can also use the three horizontal dots option next to the conversation on your Mac, to copy, forward, or remove bookmarked messages. Click on the icon and choose the action from the menu.

As the name suggests, this feature enables you to split your chat screens. Now you can converse with multiple persons with ease and can work on other apps along with the conversation.

You can easily select and send one or two pics to your contacts. However, when it comes to sharing multiple files, there might be some missing, some repeats and some unwanted images shares.

Skype’s latest update solves the issue by incorporating a media preview feature. Whether you select one or 10 images or video, a preview is shown. You can preview, click ‘+’ icon to add, and click ‘x’ to delete the media attachments accordingly.
